The East and West Tamar Highways offer you the chance to be in your very own road movie. This is one of Tasmania's great road trips, passing through fishing villages, historic settlements, holiday towns, dense rainforest, and gold mining country where two rescued miners captured the world's attention in 2006. Both West and East give access to fantastic north coast beaches. The East Tamar is also gateway to the North East Touring Route, taking in the historic towns of the Chinese Trail of the Tin Dragon.
