A Sense of Autumn in Launceston Tamar Valley

ImageSmell the forest floor at Hollybank Forest, Underwood, where magnificent avenues of deciduous trees line the edge of Pipers River (if you’re lucky you’ll find the swimming hole).

See and celebrate harvest in the local vineyards on the Tamar Valley Wine Route with a glass of last year’s vintage.

Taste Boag’s, the local beer, at the home of Australia’s premium brewer. Brewed in Tasmania since 1883 using distinctive local hops, and harvesting about now.

Hear the foghorn at Low Head lighthouse sound (only on a Sunday), a reminder that sea fogs will soon be rolling in along with the sailors.

Touch Huon pine, myrtle and sassafrass, the smoothest of woods superbly shaped into fine design at the Tasmanian Wood Design Collection, City Park.

Balance yourself, by taking time to focus on what moves you; Tassie does that to you.
