Exeter is a thriving town for the local area, where you'll also find arts and crafts, a 9 hole golf course, supermarkets, fuel, limited accommodation, bakery, fashion shops, chemist, post office, cafés/coffee houses…and, there's the Exeter Market (best to ask a local when it's on).

Nearby Gravelly Beach and Deviot have interesting walks and attractions, including the historic Auld Kirk Church. You'll be spoiled for choice for riverside picnic spots.

Take the Frankford Highway towards Devonport (the departure point for the Spirit of Tasmania) or head towards Notley Fern Gorge for a walk through the wilderness at its best.
