Hillwood is a rural village situated amongst apple and pear orchards and vineyards, with tranquil river views from most angles. Berry fruits, fruit wines and cheeses are available at the strawberry farm. Pack a picnic and stop at Egg Island Picnic Reserve (barbecue, boat ramp and fishing jetty facilities, or visit the nearby historic semaphore site at Mt Direction.  Bed and Breakfast accommodation, fuel and essential grocery items are also available in the village.
